VfB Stuttgart vs. Borussia Mönchengladbach

Last Sunday, two first half goals scored by Stuttgart were enough to beat Borussia Mönchengladbach, and put some vital space between their team and the relegation zone. The 2-0 victory achieved by Borussia also meant a bet lost by me at Betfair.

Stuttgart jumped out to a lead after 28 minutes due to an own goal scored by Gladbach. After Patrick Herrmann fouled Cristian Molinaro, Alexandru Maxim whipped in a free kick, which Alvaro Dominguez was able to turn into his own goal.
Five minutes later, Christian Gentner increased the difference on the scoring table, making it 2-0. Before scoring, the midfielder broke through the Gladbach back line past Marc Andre ter Stegen. Vedad Ibisevic almost made it 3-0 just before the end of the first half, but that was the moment when Ter Stegen was impossible to beat.

After this match, the Swabians are currently situated on the 12th place in the Bundesliga table, with 36 points, a full nine ahead of the 16th situated Augsburg. On the other hand, thanks to the defeat suffered by Eintracht Frankfurt this weekend, Gladbach are now just one point behind the final place from Europa League.

Result:-6 units, bet lost
