Manchester United vs. Chelsea
Sunday, May 5th 2013, 12:00 CET
Old Trafford will give way this week to a game between the newly crowned champions of Premier League and the team that would like to challenge them and increase their head to head supremacy. Bet365 provides us with the best odds for this game, and we’re going to be relying on them while betting on the winner.
Manchester United is short out of a game with Arsenal, where Robin van Persie was the one to bring that one point for the Red Devils (dressed in white this time), and in a decent display of fair play refused to celebrate the goal against his former team. The game started with the players from Arsenal giving the Manchester squad guard of honor to celebrate their title win, an impressive gesture if you think about the rivalry between the two teams. All in all, Arsenal played the game with much more purpose than Manchester and was close to scoring the winning goal, but De Gea opposed the late strike and the match ended with a draw. Chelsea overcame Swansea City with 2-0 and consolidated their position in the top four, and is still aiming for a direct spot into the next edition of Champions League. The much desired third spot belongs to Arsenal, but Chelsea is in a good mood after Lampard and Juan Mata managed to win them a game so vital for European hopes.
Manchester will have to work around not having two of their most important players seeing as Ashley Young and Paul Scholes are out due to ankle and knee injury respectively, and Chelsea is without the services of midfielder Oriol Romeu out with a knee ligament fracture.
Chelsea met Manchester in April when they were drawn to play in the FA Cup, where the Blues managed to win with 1-0 mainly thanks to the efforts of Peter Cech whose saves during the last minutes of the game earned Chelsea the ticket to take part further in the competition leaving Manchester with the only task to defend their lead on the table and win the Premier League crown.
The game full of tension is set to start this Sunday at 16:00, GMT+1, and I’m hoping on a Manchester United win, that’s why I’m betting 6 units on them at 2.20, with odds from bet365.
