Belgium’s current squad are known as the country’s ‘golden generation’. Star players such as Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku are all reaching their peaks and the stage is set for what could become a very memorable tournament for the Belgians.
The Red Devils (BEL) breezed through their WC qualifying group (W9, D1), scoring 43 goals and conceding just six in the process to finish top with 28 points, nine more than the runners-up Greece. On the other hand, Panama, claimed the third and final CONCACAF WC qualification place (W3, D4, L3) by beating Costa Rica 2-1 in their final match thanks to a now-legendary 88th minute winner by Román Torres.
This will be the first ever meeting between the sides. Belgium are in fine form and since their 2 – 0 loss against Spain in September 2016, they have gone on a superb 19 games unbeaten run of (W14, D5). Since qualifying for the WC, Panama don’t have an impressive record (W2, D2, L4).
Players to watch:
Belgium feature a star-studded team, but expect Kevin de Bruyne to pull the strings and supply the ammo for target man, Romelu Lukaku.
Román Torres is Panama’s ‘star’, and the Belgian defence will have to remain alert to his quick feet and surging runs.
- Ten of Belgium’s last thirteen matches have ended with over 2.5 goals.
- Panama have failed to score in four of their last six matches.
- Belgium have kept five clean sheets in their last seven matches.
- In 2018, Belgium have scored 11 goals and conceded one, compared with Panama’s record of just one goal scored and eight conceded!
Belgium wins and they will score over 2.5 goals. The odds are @2.04. This time, we wiil bet at Pinnacle, the best asian bookmaker via the most trusted betting agent, Bet-Ibc.
